Trial adoption

Try it first. No pressure if it's not a fit.

If you've never had a pet, it's hard to know if it's right from day one. Take them home for a 14-day trial. Whatever happens, we promise they will never lose a safe home.

Become a family

Once you've settled in together, complete the adoption and make it official.

  • Finish the paperwork and bring them home for good

  • Ongoing support from our trainers

  • Free place on our adopter training class

Not a fit

Return them, we'll take it from here

Lifestyle, space or time not working out is completely normal. Just tell us, no guilt needed.

  • Contact us any time to arrange a return

  • They come back to the centre and our team cares for them

  • We match them with a family that fits better

Had your pet a while and it's not working?

Rather than giving them up, entrust them to us. We'll care for them and find them a new home so they keep a good life.

Trial adoption FAQ

How long is the trial?

Usually 14 days. We can extend it depending on the animal and your home.

What if problems come up during the trial?

A trainer checks in with you regularly, and you can ask us about any behaviour or care question at any time.

Will returning affect future adoptions?

No. The trial exists to find the right match, and being honest helps us find a better one for you.

I didn't adopt from you. Can I still rehome with you?

Yes. Contact us first and we'll learn about your pet and arrange an assessment.

They are waiting

Every day, a life waits quietly on a street corner for someone to come back

Abandoned, trapped, injured. They cannot speak or call for help; they can only watch passers-by with their eyes. Your support could be the person they have waited so long for.

  • The old dog tied to a lamp post Abandoned

The old dog tied to a lamp post

Old and sick, he was tied up in a back lane with a rope. On rainy nights he still watches the way his owner left, thinking he'll be back soon.

  • The breeding dog who never walked on grass Trapped

The breeding dog who never walked on grass

Kept her whole life in a tiny cage, giving birth litter after litter. When she was no longer "valuable", she was discarded. She doesn't even know the world outside can be gentle.

  • The local dog holding on by the roadside Injured

Hit by a car, he dragged his injured leg to the roadside and hid, afraid to go near anyone. Timely medical care decides whether he can stand again.
